New Features (by no means this is a complete list):
Safety:
Internet Explorer 8 employs industry-leading safety features to help you
enjy a safer online experience.
Right out of the box it will block websites which have been reported as
malicious by the community.
It will fight malvare, deceptive attacks by social engineering, drive-by
attack, fake anti virus/security warnings, phishing emails and many other
sophisticated threats.
Improved Searching:
Immediate visual results for Weather, Movie info (Reviews/Showtimes) and
Stock Quotes. As soon as you type a search in one of these categories you
will get a visual result.
Compatibility for sites designed for older browsers.
If the site you are looking at has misaligned text or looks somewhat odd,
you can click the Compatibility View button next to the Refresh button.
IE8 will remember this setting the next time you come back to this
particular site. To turn this feature off just click the Compatibility View
button again.
This feature works on a per site basis, all other sites you visit will
display using normal Internet Explorer 8 functionality.
You can also mantain a list of sites from > COMMAND BAR > TOOLS then seect
the "Compatibility View Settings".
Improved Stability:
Should a site cause a tab to crash, only that tab will be affected, the
Browser will remain stable.
Should one or more tabs crash, they will be restored automatically and you
will be returned to the site you were at, before the crash happened.
Privacy:
Individual site blocking. If you need to block access to a particular site
here's how you do it:
Go to Tools, then Internet Options. Now select the "Content Tab".
In the "Content Advisor section" click the "Enable" button (*see below).
A popup box will come up, click on the "Approved Sites" tab and enter the
address for the website you want to block, (for instance you type "http://www.TheWebsiteToBlock.com")
then clirk on the "Never" button.
At this point you just click on "apply" and the website won't be loaded any
more; it will be blocked.
If you or someone has already enabled the "Content Advisor" feature, you
will need to enter the password in order to access either the "Disable" or
the "Settings" features.
Tracking Cookies and Browsing History:
InPrivate Browsing enables you to browse the web without recording any
evidence of searches or webpage visits.
To enable InPrivate Browsing simply open a new Tab and then select "Browse
with InPrivate" from the menu on the page.
Or you could select InPrivate Browsing from the Safety button on the Command
bar.
Doing this will open a new session that will have InPrivate Browsing
enabled.
Troubleshooting:
Should your version of IE8 be crashing frequently, here's a few easy to
follow steps:
Go to TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > SECURITY and choose the "Reset All Zones To
Default level" option.
Still having problems? Try loading Explorer without any add-ons.
To load IE8 without any add-ons (that's toolbars, plugins etc) simply close
it and run IE.
If IE works fine then your problem is caused by an add-on.
You now have two options:
A) Go to the Add-Ons tool, disable all add ons then enable them one at the
time and every time you enable one, see if IE works correctly until you find
the one that's creating the problem.
B) Go to: TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > choose the ADVANCED tab and click on
"Reset" tab.
Upon restarting Internet Explorer all your Temp files will be deleted, all
add-ons/plugins/toolbars etc will be disabled and all settings will be reset
to default.
You will have to re-install all add-ons if you do this.
If all this fails you might have some corrupted files. To fix simply bring
up the "RUN" dialogue then write sfc /scannow into it and hit the enter key.

Obviously we are assuming you are running a good antivirus and your system
is virus free.
